Commercial Autonomous Floor Scrubber in Marshall County, Iowa
St John Condos helps travelers from Marshall County, Iowa, plan a quiet week on St. John in the US Virgin Islands. Villas at the Westin St John Resort are rented by the week, and our local team answers your questions before you book.
Marshall County sits in the heart of Iowa, where winters are cold and the landscape is wide and open. After a busy season, many people from here want something very different: warm air, a slower rhythm, and a week with nothing demanding their attention. St. John, in the US Virgin Islands, offers that kind of pause, with a calm pace that feels far from the everyday routine back home. A week at a villa gives you room to unwind on your own terms. You can spend mornings with coffee on a private terrace, afternoons reading in the shade, and evenings watching the light change. Before you commit to dates or a rental, St John Condos can talk through what a quiet week might look like for you, including how to keep the trip simple from start to finish.

Planning a quiet week from Marshall County
- Getting to St. John. Most visitors from Marshall County fly to St. Thomas, which uses the airport code STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From there, a passenger ferry carries you across to Cruz Bay on St. John. Plan a little slack in your schedule so the transfers feel relaxed rather than rushed, and let your arrival day be a gentle one.
- Choosing when to leave Iowa. Iowa winters are long, so many travelers from Marshall County find that leaving during the coldest months brings the greatest sense of relief. Think about what kind of week you want. If you prefer a quieter island, a period outside the busiest seasons can give you more space. Our team can help you weigh those trade-offs before you book.
- Planning the stay itself. Villas at the Westin St John Resort are rented by the week, which suits a true unwinding trip. Decide ahead of time how much you want to plan, and leave open blocks for doing nothing. If you are driving on the island, remember that driving on St. John is on the left, so take a moment to adjust before you set off.
