For many people in Jefferson County, a trip to the Caribbean is something they have talked about for years before finally deciding to commit. This is a splurge worth planning carefully, and that is exactly the kind of trip we help with. The Westin St John Resort sits on St. John in the US Virgin Islands, and villas there are rented by the week, which suits travelers who want room to unwind rather than rush from one stop to the next. Planning your splurge from Jefferson County

  1. Reaching the island. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas, which uses the airport code STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook and the passenger ferry across to Cruz Bay on St. John. Plan a little slack around connections, since travel from the Midwest often involves more than one flight. Once on the island, remember that driving is on the left, so take a moment before getting behind the wheel.
  2. Choosing when to go. Iowa residents often pick the coldest months for an escape, but the islands have their own rhythm of seasons that many travelers come to appreciate. Consider what matters most to you, whether that is calm weather, fewer crowds, or simply a break from home routines. Talk through the timing with our team before committing, since they can help you match your dates to what you hope to experience.
  3. Planning the stay. A villa rented by the week gives you a home base for a longer splurge, with room to slow down and set your own pace. Map out what you want from the trip, such as lazy beach days, a few planned outings, or simply time to read on a terrace. Keep the schedule loose enough that the island can surprise you, and let the week unfold at its own gentle speed.

Frequently asked questions

Is a week-long villa stay the right fit for a once-in-a-lifetime trip from Iowa?

For many travelers from Jefferson County, a full week is what makes the trip feel worth the effort of getting there. Villas are rented by the week, so you can settle in, unwind, and avoid the feeling of packing up every few days. If you are unsure how long to stay, our team can talk through what suits your plans before you book.

Can a commercial autonomous floor scrubber be part of this kind of trip?

A commercial autonomous floor scrubber is a machine used to clean large floors in businesses, and it has nothing to do with booking a villa on St. John. If you are a facility manager from Jefferson County looking for that equipment, you will need a supplier of commercial cleaning machines rather than a vacation rental team.
