Commercial Autonomous Floor Scrubber in Madison County, Illinois

St John Condos is a local team that answers questions before you book a villa at the Westin St John Resort for a week away with friends from Madison County, Illinois, and can help you plan the trip from start to finish.

A week on St. John with a group of friends works well when everyone has a clear picture of the plan before anyone packs a bag. Travelers from Madison County, Illinois, often arrive from a landlocked part of the Midwest where winters are cold and the idea of warm water and open sun feels like a real change of pace. A rented villa gives your group room to spread out, cook together, and settle into a slower rhythm than a hotel usually allows. Because villas here are rented by the week, your group can share one home base and agree on the rest of the trip together. Some friends will want quiet mornings and others will want to be out early, and a villa can hold both. Talk through budgets, arrival days, and who handles which tasks before you commit, so the trip feels relaxed from the first day rather than rushed.

Planning a group week from Madison County

  1. Getting to St. John. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas, which has the airport code STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From there the passenger ferry carries you across to Cruz Bay on St. John. Plan for everyone to land on the same day if you can, and confirm your ferry plans ahead of time so the group arrives together and no one waits alone at the dock.
  2. Choosing when to leave Illinois. Winters in Illinois can be cold and gray, so many friend groups from Madison County aim for a window in the cooler, drier months of the Caribbean calendar when the weather is most comfortable. Talk with your group early about dates, since a shared week is easier to plan when everyone knows the window and can request time off well ahead.
  3. Planning the stay together. Once dates are set, decide as a group how you want to spend your days. Driving on St. John is on the left side of the road, so make sure whoever drives has had a moment to adjust. Share a list of what each person wants to bring, and ask the St John Condos team any questions about the villa before you book so nothing surprises you on arrival.

Frequently asked questions

Is a villa a good choice for a group of friends?

Usually, yes. A villa gives everyone private bedrooms, shared living space, and a kitchen for simple meals, which keeps the group together without crowding. Because villas are rented by the week, the whole trip can run on one shared base, and you can all decide together how much time to spend out and how much to spend relaxing at home.

Do we need to rent a car while we are on St. John?

That depends on how your group likes to move around. Keep in mind that driving on St. John is on the left, which takes a little getting used to. Talk through transportation before you book, and ask the St John Condos team what works best for a group from Madison County that wants flexibility during the week.
