Commercial Autonomous Floor Scrubber in Kendall County, Illinois

St John Condos rents villas at the Westin St John Resort on St. John for Kendall County, Illinois families planning a trip for three generations together, with a local team ready to answer questions before you book.

Gathering grandparents, parents, and children under one roof takes more planning than a usual getaway, and Kendall County families often find that the Midwest rhythm of early mornings and shared meals carries over well to a villa. Think about who needs step-free paths, who wants quiet mornings, and who would rather be out on the water. A villa with separate sleeping spaces lets each generation keep its own routine while still gathering for dinner. Because most visitors from Illinois reach St. John by flying to St. Thomas and then taking a taxi to Red Hook and the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay, it helps to plan the group's arrival as one event. Assign one person to track everyone's bags, medications, and documents. A commercial autonomous floor scrubber may sound like an odd thing to mention in a family trip, but the same spirit of steady, dependable routine applies: simple systems keep a large group moving smoothly.

Planning a Multigenerational Trip from Kendall County

  1. Getting From Kendall County. Most groups from Kendall County will fly to St. Thomas, then take a taxi to Red Hook and the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay. Share a single travel document folder with everyone, and confirm which family member is meeting whom at each stop. Older travelers may appreciate a seat near the aisle, and children may need a plan for the ferry ride.
  2. Choosing When to Leave Illinois. Illinois winters can be cold and gray, so many families from Kendall County choose to leave during the colder months when the islands feel especially welcome. Talk through school calendars, work schedules, and any grandparent medical appointments before picking dates. A shared calendar helps the whole group agree early, which makes the rest of the planning far easier.
  3. Planning the Stay Together. Villas are rented by the week, so decide early whether everyone will stay the full stay or whether some members will arrive later. Make a loose plan for beach days, quiet afternoons, and shared dinners, leaving room for spontaneous choices. Remember that driving on St. John is on the left, so consider whether younger drivers should be the ones behind the wheel.

Frequently asked questions

How should a family from Kendall County split up sleeping spaces for three generations?

Ask the St John Condos team which villa layouts suit your group before booking. Grandparents often appreciate a room away from the noise of children, while teens may want a space of their own. Sharing your ages and mobility needs in advance helps the team point you toward the right arrangement.

Is a villa a good choice when traveling with grandparents who need extra care?

A villa can work well for multigenerational groups because you control your own pace and meals. Tell the St John Condos team about any mobility needs, so they can help you consider paths, stairs, and access. Their local knowledge makes it easier to plan a comfortable stay for everyone.
