Bondurant sits in central Iowa, where winters are cold and the summers are warm and humid. For a group of friends who have spent months under gray skies, a week on a Caribbean island can feel like a real change of scenery. A villa at the Westin St John Resort gives everyone room to spread out, cook a few meals together, and still walk down to the water when the mood strikes. Planning a trip with several friends means balancing many opinions about pace, budget, and what counts as a good day. Some people want quiet mornings with coffee on a terrace, while others want to explore every trail they can find. Talking through those differences before you book helps the group settle on a plan that works for everyone, and St John Condos is glad to walk through those questions with you.

Planning a week away from Bondurant

  1. Getting to St. John. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas, the airport code is STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From there the passenger ferry carries you across to Cruz Bay on St. John. Once on the island, you will be driving on the left, which takes a little adjusting, so plan on one friend being comfortable with that role before you arrive.
  2. Choosing when to leave Iowa. Iowa winters are long, so many groups from Bondurant aim for a stretch when the island season suits their calendars and their work schedules. Gather everyone's availability early, since the friends with the tightest schedules often decide the dates. Booking early gives the group more choice in villas and makes it easier to line up time off.
  3. Planning the stay together. Villas are rented by the week, so a full stay fits neatly into a seven-day plan. Decide early who handles bookings, shared expenses, and the grocery run. Leave some open days in the schedule so the group can rest, swim, and follow whatever sounds good on a given morning.
