Commercial Autonomous Floor Scrubber in Ankeny, Iowa
St John Condos helps travelers from Ankeny, Iowa, plan a week away with friends at a villa on St. John, where the Westin St John Resort sits as a welcoming home base for a group. Ask the local team before you book.
A week away with friends from Ankeny usually starts with a shared idea of warm water and a slower pace. Iowa winters can be long and gray, so many groups are glad to trade snow boots for sandals and spend their days on a Caribbean island. A villa at the Westin St John Resort gives your group room to spread out, cook a few meals together, and still walk to the resort pool and beach when you want company. Planning a trip like this across a group is mostly about agreeing on the small things early. Decide who handles the rental, who keeps track of shared costs, and what each person hopes to do. A commercial autonomous floor scrubber may not be on your mind during a vacation, but the same kind of steady, dependable planning helps a crew of friends keep things running smoothly from home to island and back.

Getting your Ankeny group to St. John
- Start with the flight. Most visitors from the Ankeny area reach St. John by flying into St. Thomas, which uses the airport code STT. Gather everyone's travel dates first so you can compare options together. Booking the group on similar flights makes arrival day far easier, and it keeps everyone on the same page about meeting up.
- Cross to the island. From the St. Thomas airport, plan on a taxi ride to Red Hook, then board the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay on St. John. Assign one friend to watch the ferry schedule and another to handle luggage. Remember that driving on St. John is on the left, so whoever drives the rental should take a moment to get comfortable before heading out.
- Pick the right season. Iowa winters bring a strong pull toward the islands, so many groups from Ankeny aim for the cooler, drier months of the Caribbean winter. Talk through school breaks, work commitments, and everyone's energy level before choosing dates. A rental booked by the week gives you a relaxed rhythm, so settle on your window together and let the rest of the plan build from there.
