Commercial Autonomous Floor Scrubber in Silex, Missouri

St John Condos rents villas at the Westin St John Resort for travelers from Silex, Missouri, who are planning a first trip to the Caribbean. Our local team can answer your questions before you book.

If Silex is your home base and the Caribbean is new territory for you, a first island trip can feel like a lot to organize at once. Missouri sits well inland in the Midwest, so the ocean and the warm water are a real change from the landscape you know. St John Condos exists to take some of that uncertainty off your plate, starting with a plain conversation about what you want from the trip. Many travelers from the middle of the country find that the biggest surprises are small ones: the way the island is laid out, the fact that driving happens on the left, and how much a week of unhurried mornings can change your pace. Our villas at the Westin St John Resort are rented by the week, which gives you room to settle in. We are happy to talk through whether that rhythm suits your first visit.

Getting from Silex to St. John

1. Reaching the island. Most visitors from Missouri fly into St. Thomas, which is the usual gateway, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From there, a passenger ferry carries you across to Cruz Bay on St. John. Plan your connections with some slack in case of delays, and keep your travel documents handy. If the ferry or taxi plan feels unfamiliar, ask our team and we will explain each leg before you leave home.
2. Choosing when to go. Silex winters are cold, so many travelers from Missouri look forward to a warm island break in the colder months. Think about what you want the trip to feel like, whether that is quiet shoulder weather or the busier stretches of the season. Choosing a time that matches your comfort with heat, rain, and crowds will shape how restful the week feels once you arrive.
3. Planning the stay. Once you have dates in mind, decide how you want your days to look. A villa rented by the week gives you a kitchen, a base to return to, and space to slow down, which many first-time island visitors appreciate. Set aside time before you travel to think through meals, transportation on the island, and the pace you want. Our team can help you match the villa to your plans.
