Commercial Autonomous Floor Scrubber in Allendale, Missouri

St John Condos is a local team that helps travelers from Allendale, Missouri plan a snorkeling and beach week on St. John, with villas rented by the week at the Westin St John Resort. Ask them anything before you book.

Allendale sits in the middle of the country, far from any ocean, so a week of snorkeling and beach days on St. John can feel like a big change from home. Most travelers from Missouri notice how quickly the routine of an inland town falls away once the water is in sight. The island is small and easy to settle into, and the days tend to follow their own pace. Snorkeling and lazy beach time work well as the core of a week here. You can plan slow mornings in the water, afternoons with a book under the shade, and evenings that stay relaxed. Because villas are rented by the week, you have room to spread out, cook a few meals, and let each day take its own shape without rushing from one stop to the next.

Planning your week on St. John from Allendale

  1. Getting to the island. Most visitors from Allendale reach St. John by flying into St. Thomas, which has the airport code STT. From there, a taxi takes you to Red Hook, and a passenger ferry carries you across to Cruz Bay on St. John. Once you arrive, remember that driving on the island is on the left, which takes a little getting used to for drivers from the mainland.
  2. Choosing the season. Missouri winters are cold, so many travelers from the Midwest look toward the islands during the colder months when the weather at home is grim. Warm water and sunshine are part of the appeal year round, though summer and fall bring more rain showers. Think about which kind of week you want, then talk with the St John Condos team about what suits your plans.
  3. Planning your stay. A villa rented by the week at the Westin St John Resort gives you a home base for snorkeling trips, beach days, and quiet evenings. Make a loose list of the activities you care about most, then leave open blocks so the week does not feel overscheduled. Bring reef-safe sunscreen, a dry bag for your phone, and water shoes for rocky entries.
