Commercial Autonomous Floor Scrubber in Portage Des Sioux, Missouri
St John Condos helps travelers from Portage Des Sioux plan a trip for three generations together, with villas at the Westin St John Resort on St. John in the US Virgin Islands, rented by the week and suited to grandparents, parents, and children sharing one base.
A family trip that brings grandparents, parents, and children together asks for a different kind of planning than a couple's getaway. Everyone has a different pace, different needs for rest, and different ideas about what a good day looks like. For travelers from Portage Des Sioux, Missouri, the distance to the Caribbean is part of the story, and it helps to think of the trip as one shared journey rather than separate arrangements stitched together. A villa rented by the week gives a multigenerational group room to spread out while still staying close. Older relatives can rest in quiet corners, younger children can move freely, and adults can gather for meals without feeling rushed. St John Condos is a local team that answers questions before you book, so you can talk through sleeping arrangements, accessibility, and the rhythm of your days before anything is decided.

Planning a three-generation trip from Portage Des Sioux
- Getting to St. John. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas, which uses the airport code STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From there the passenger ferry carries you across to Cruz Bay on St. John. Plan this route with the oldest traveler in mind, arranging seats and breaks so that the transfers feel manageable for everyone in the group from start to finish.
- Choosing when to leave. Missouri winters are cold, so many families from the Midwest look forward to a warm escape during the colder months. Think about school calendars, the health and comfort of your eldest members, and how much heat each person enjoys. Talk with the group early so the timing suits both the youngest and the oldest, and everyone arrives ready to enjoy the islands.
- Planning the stay. Choose a villa with enough bedrooms and bathrooms that each generation can have some privacy. Plan a few shared meals, leave open afternoons for rest, and agree on one or two activities everyone enjoys. Because driving on St. John is on the left, consider how much of the group will be on the road and who will handle the driving.
