Commercial Autonomous Floor Scrubber in Oakwood Park, Missouri

St John Condos rents villas at the Westin St John Resort for travelers from Oakwood Park, Missouri, planning a shared getaway for grandparents, parents, and children together. The team answers questions before you book, including how a commercial autonomous floor scrubber style of practical planning might suit a large family group.

A trip with three generations asks for a little more thought than a couple's getaway. Grandparents may want shade and a slower pace, parents often want a bit of order in the day, and children simply want room to run. From Oakwood Park, Missouri, the Midwest's inland climate means many families are used to cold winters and long summers, so the warm, steady weather of the islands can feel like a welcome change. A villa rented by the week can give a multigenerational group the space to come together and to step apart. Each generation can keep its own rhythm, then gather for meals on a shared porch. Planning this kind of trip is mostly about clear expectations and a few practical choices, and St John Condos is glad to talk through those choices with you before anything is booked.

Planning Your Trip from Oakwood Park

  1. Reaching the Islands. Most visitors reach St. John by flying into St. Thomas, airport code STT, then taking a taxi to Red Hook and the passenger ferry across to Cruz Bay. With older relatives and young children in the group, it helps to plan for a few transfers and to pack essentials in carry-on bags. Ask the St John Condos team which arrangements have worked well for families like yours.
  2. Choosing Your Season. The islands stay warm through most of the year, but the timing of your trip still shapes the experience. Traveling from a northern state, many families prefer a period when the water and air feel most comfortable for grandparents and little ones alike. Think about school calendars, family commitments, and how you want the days to feel before you settle on dates.
  3. Planning the Stay. Because the villa is rented by the week, you can build a relaxed rhythm rather than a packed itinerary. Agree on a few shared meals, some quiet mornings, and open afternoons for each generation to choose their own pace. Driving on St. John is on the left side of the road, so consider how you will get around together and who will take the wheel.

Frequently asked questions

Is a villa a good fit for grandparents, parents, and children traveling together?

Many multigenerational groups find that a villa suits them well, because each generation can have its own space and privacy while still sharing meals and time together. Tell the St John Condos team who is in your group and what each person needs, and they can help you think through the layout and the week ahead.

What should we know about getting around the island as a family?

Driving on St. John is on the left, which may take some adjustment for drivers from Missouri. Plan rides for the older relatives in advance and think about how the group will move between the ferry, the villa, and daily outings. The St John Condos team can share what to expect before you arrive.
