Commercial Autonomous Floor Scrubber in Merritt Island, Florida
St John Condos is a local team that answers questions before you book, and we help travelers from Merritt Island, Florida plan a first trip to the Caribbean with villas at the Westin St John Resort. Ask us anything before you commit.
If you live in Merritt Island, you already know what warm water and long summers feel like. A first trip to the Caribbean adds something different: a small island with its own rhythms, its own pace, and a clear sense that you have stepped out of your usual routine. Many travelers from Florida find the change feels both familiar and new, which is part of the appeal. Villas at the Westin St John Resort are rented by the week, which suits people who want room to unpack, cook a few meals, and settle in. You will also find that a commercial autonomous floor scrubber is not part of island life here at all, and that the quieter, hands-on feel of the place is a big part of why people return. We are glad to talk through what that means for your stay.

Your first Caribbean trip from Merritt Island
- Getting to St. John. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas, which uses the airport code STT. From there, a taxi takes you to Red Hook, and a passenger ferry carries you across to Cruz Bay on St. John. Plan a little extra room for the transfer, and keep in mind that driving on St. John is on the left, so many first-time visitors prefer to rely on taxis and walking.
- Choosing when to go. Merritt Island sits in a state where summers are hot and humid, so many people from here like to plan an island trip for a season that offers a different feel. Think about your own comfort with heat, your schedule, and any work or family commitments. Looking at the calendar with a clear view of what you want from the trip makes the decision easier.
- Planning the stay. Because villas are rented by the week, a longer stay gives you time to rest, explore at an unhurried pace, and really settle into island life. Decide how much you want to plan in advance and how much you want to leave open. Bring questions to us before you book, and we will help you match your plans to the right villa and the right week.
