Commercial Autonomous Floor Scrubber in Marley, Illinois

St John Condos helps families from Marley, Illinois, plan a shared trip to St. John, where a villa can hold three generations under one roof. Ask the local team before you book and they will walk you through the details.

Marley sits in the Midwest, where winters run cold and many families only see a true beach on a long-awaited holiday. For a trip with grandparents, parents, and children together, the question is rarely whether to go but how to keep everyone comfortable from the first flight to the final goodbye. A villa rented by the week gives each generation room to rest without losing the feeling of being together. A shared villa changes the rhythm of a family vacation. Quiet mornings suit the older travelers, while the younger ones often want to be outside early and stay out late. With separate bedrooms, a kitchen for simple meals, and space to gather at the end of the day, you can settle into a pace that works for everyone. St John Condos can talk through layouts with you so the arrangement fits your group.

Planning a trip from Marley

  1. Getting to the island. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas, the airport code STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From there the passenger ferry carries you across to Cruz Bay on St. John. Plan for a few changes if you are coming from central Illinois, and build in a little slack for three generations moving through airports together. Keep carry-on bags light and confirm everyone's seat assignments early.
  2. Choosing when to leave. Winter in Marley is cold and gray, which makes the islands especially welcome in those months. Many families also favor the shoulder seasons, when the weather is warm and the crowds are thinner. Think about school calendars, the ages of the youngest travelers, and how much heat your grandparents enjoy before you pick a week. Remember that St. John drives on the left, so the older drivers in your group may prefer to ride along.
  3. Planning the stay. Start with a shared plan that everyone helps shape, including what each generation hopes to do. Some will want quiet time by the pool, others a day on the water or a walk along the trails. Rent a villa big enough that nobody feels crowded, and agree on a simple rhythm for meals. Reach out to St John Condos with your questions before you book, and they can help you line up the details.
