Commercial Autonomous Floor Scrubber in Keenes, Illinois
St John Condos helps friends from Keenes, Illinois, plan a week together at a villa near the Westin St John Resort, and the local team answers questions before you book.
A week away with friends from Keenes tends to work best when everyone agrees early on what they want from the trip. Some groups want quiet mornings and long lunches, while others want to be out on the water every day. Talk through those preferences before anyone starts looking at dates. A shared villa gives your group room to spread out, cook together when you feel like it, and gather on the deck without feeling crowded. Illinois winters are cold and gray, so many friends from the Midwest look forward to a warm Caribbean week as a real change of pace. St. John is a small island, and it moves at its own relaxed rhythm, which suits a group that wants to rest. Keep the plan simple, leave room for spontaneity, and let the island set the tempo once you arrive.

Planning your week from Keenes
- Getting to the island. Most visitors from Keenes fly to St. Thomas, which is the island's main airport code STT. From there, a taxi will take your group to Red Hook, where you board the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay on St. John. Ask your villa team about the ferry schedule and plan around it, since it is the easiest way to reach the island. Coordinate arrival times within your group so no one ends up waiting alone at the dock.
- Choosing when to leave Illinois. Think about your group's schedules, work commitments, and how the cold Illinois weather will feel when you leave. Many friends prefer to depart when the island season suits their plans, and they like to book early so the whole group can travel together. Share a single calendar and agree on a travel window before you commit. Once you have dates, confirm them with your group and send them to the villa team for review.
- Planning the stay. Rent your villa by the week, which fits a group trip well and keeps the schedule easy to manage. Divide the planning tasks, such as meals, transportation on the island, and shared expenses, so no one carries the whole load. Remember that driving on St. John is on the left, so plan your rides with that in mind. Leave a few open days so your group can rest, explore, or simply enjoy the view together.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a rental car on St. John?
Many groups find a rental car helpful for getting around the island, but you will be driving on the left, which takes a little adjustment. Talk with your group about who will drive and whether everyone is comfortable with the local roads. Some friends prefer to share rides and keep the car for a few planned outings.
How should our group split the costs of a villa week?
Agree on a cost-sharing plan before you book, so everyone knows what to expect. Many groups split the rental evenly and then divide grocery and transportation costs as they go. Keep a shared record, and settle up at the end of the week so no one feels short-changed.
