Commercial Autonomous Floor Scrubber in Ivesdale, Illinois
St John Condos helps friends from Ivesdale, Illinois, plan a week together at a villa on St. John, rented by the week at the Westin St John Resort, with a local team ready to answer questions before you book.
A week away with friends is one of the easiest kinds of trip to plan when everyone agrees on the basics early. For a group from Ivesdale, Illinois, the appeal of St. John is that a villa gives you shared space to gather, cook, and unwind together, rather than scattering across separate rooms. The island is known for its quiet, green hillsides and clear water, and a villa rented by the week lets the group settle into a slower rhythm. Because the trip is shared, decisions about dates, budget, and who handles which details matter more than usual. It helps to name one person to track flights and another to keep the group calendar. Ask questions early, compare what each friend wants from the week, and let the villa become the home base where the plans come together.

Getting from Ivesdale to St. John
- Start with the flight. Most visitors from the Midwest fly to St. Thomas, which uses the airport code STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From there the passenger ferry carries you across to Cruz Bay on St. John. Share the travel details with the whole group so everyone knows where to meet and how to get to the dock together.
- Pick the season for leaving Illinois. Illinois winters are cold, so many groups from Ivesdale choose to head for the islands during the colder months when the warm, dry weather feels most welcome. Talk with the group about what time of year suits everyone's schedules and vacation days, then settle on a window before you look at specific dates.
- Plan the shared week. Divide the work so no one feels stuck with every detail. One friend can handle grocery planning, another can map out the days, and someone can keep track of who needs a rental car, remembering that driving on St. John is on the left. Agree on a loose plan so the week still leaves room for spontaneous afternoons together.
Frequently asked questions
Do we all need to fly into St. Thomas together?
Not necessarily, though meeting up on the same flight or at the same point can make the trip smoother. Most people from Ivesdale still reach St. Thomas and then take the taxi to Red Hook and the ferry to Cruz Bay. Coordinate arrival plans with the group so everyone knows where to meet before crossing to St. John.
How do we split the costs fairly for a villa we all share?
Many groups agree on a simple split before booking, based on the number of bedrooms each person takes or an even share across everyone. Talk through food, car rental, and outings openly from the start. The St John Condos team can answer questions about the villa itself before you book, so you can settle the group plan with confidence.
