Commercial Autonomous Floor Scrubber in Hometown, Illinois

St John Condos helps friends from Hometown, Illinois, plan a week together at a villa on St. John in the US Virgin Islands. Our local team answers questions before you book, so the group can settle on dates and details with confidence.

A week away with friends is one of the easiest trips to build when everyone shares the planning. Travelers from Hometown are used to long winters and flat, green summers, so the idea of trading a gray Illinois February for warm sand and clear water often feels like exactly the reset a group needs. The trick is getting everyone aligned early on what they want from the week. Rather than booking a hotel room for each person, a villa gives your group a shared space to cook, talk, and unwind at the end of the day. At the Westin St John Resort, you can spread out, keep your own schedules loose, and still come together for meals. Think of it as a home base that makes a crowd of friends feel like one easy household for the length of the stay.

Planning Your Trip from Hometown

1. Getting From Hometown. Most visitors from the Chicago area and beyond fly into St. Thomas, the STT airport, and then take a taxi to Red Hook and the passenger ferry across to Cruz Bay on St. John. Plan to share a taxi with your friends to keep the group together and simplify the luggage. Once you arrive, remember that driving on St. John is on the left, so think about who in the group is comfortable behind the wheel.
2. Choosing When to Leave. Illinois winters are cold, so many friends from Hometown find that the islands feel most rewarding during the colder months back home. Talk through when everyone can get away from work and family, and compare that with the general climate you want. Settling the dates early gives the group time to lock in flights together and avoid scattered arrivals at the airport.
3. Planning the Stay. Villas are rented by the week, which suits a group that wants a full seven days together. Before booking, agree on shared costs, meal plans, and who handles the grocery run. Our local team can answer questions about the villa, the resort, and the logistics before you commit, so everyone travels with the same expectations and nobody is surprised once the trip begins.
