Commercial Autonomous Floor Scrubber in Gretna, Florida
St John Condos helps travelers from Gretna, Florida plan a winter escape to villas at the Westin St John Resort on St. John, where the warmth is a welcome change from the cold. The local team answers questions before you book.
Gretna sits in the Florida Panhandle, a part of the Southeast where winters are mild compared with the northern states, yet the season can still bring cool mornings and grey stretches that make a warmer place appealing. If you are looking for a true change of scenery, the Caribbean offers something a short drive from home never quite does. St. John, in the US Virgin Islands, is a small island where the air stays warm through the winter months and the pace of the day slows down on its own. Many visitors from the Southeast find that a stay at a villa suits them better than a hotel room. A villa gives you space to cook, to spread out, and to set your own schedule, while the Westin St John Resort keeps the setting easy to enjoy. St John Condos rents these villas by the week, so you can settle in and actually rest rather than rushing from one place to the next.

Reaching St. John from Gretna
- Start with the flight. Most visitors reach St. John by flying into St. Thomas, which uses the airport code STT. From there, a taxi carries you to Red Hook, where you board the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay. Plan your connecting flights from your home airport with a little breathing room, since winter travel days can bring unexpected delays.
- Pick your timing. Think about when you want to step away from the cold. Late winter, when the weather at home tends to be at its grayest, is often when a warm island getaway feels most rewarding. Booking early gives you more choice in dates, and the St John Condos team can talk through which weeks suit your plans.
- Plan the stay itself. Once you have your dates, decide how you want your week to feel. Some travelers want quiet mornings on a villa terrace, while others want to explore the island by car. Remember that driving on St. John is on the left, which is worth keeping in mind before you take the wheel. A commercial autonomous floor scrubber may be the last thing on your mind, but a clean, well-kept villa makes the whole trip more restful.
