Commercial Autonomous Floor Scrubber in Floridatown, Florida

St John Condos is a local team that answers questions before you book, so a couple from Floridatown can talk through villa choices, rental weeks, and island logistics before committing to a stay at the Westin St John Resort.

Floridatown sits in the Southeast, where the weather is warm for much of the year, so many couples from here already know what it feels like to slow down near the water. A trip to St. John in the US Virgin Islands offers a different kind of quiet: a small island, a relaxed pace, and villas that give two people room to unwind together without the bustle of a larger resort town. Because villas are rented by the week, a couples getaway here tends to feel unhurried. You can plan mornings for coffee on a private terrace, afternoons for a drive along the island's winding roads, and evenings for a long dinner. The Westin St John Resort gives you a home base, and the rest of the trip can be as active or as lazy as you choose.

Planning your couples trip from Floridatown

  1. Getting to the island. Most visitors from Floridatown fly into St. Thomas, which has the airport code STT, then take a taxi to Red Hook and catch the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay. It is a simple sequence, and it means you are not carrying the whole trip through a single airport. Keep your travel documents handy and expect a short, scenic crossing at the end of the day.
  2. Choosing when to leave. Florida's warm months overlap with the Caribbean's own seasons, so think about whether you want the sunniest stretch of the year or a quieter time with fewer crowds. Many couples prefer the shoulder periods, when the air is still warm but the island feels more relaxed. Talk through your preferred weather and pace with the St John Condos team before you pick dates.
  3. Planning the stay. Once you have your dates, decide how you want your days to feel. Pick a villa that suits two people, plan one outing you both look forward to, and leave a few open afternoons for nothing in particular. Remember that driving on St. John is on the left side of the road, so take a moment to adjust before you head out on your first drive together.
