Commercial Autonomous Floor Scrubber in Fern Park, Florida
St John Condos is a local team that answers questions before you book, and for a long-planned splurge from Fern Park, Florida, we can help you think through a villa stay at the Westin St John Resort on St. John.
Fern Park sits in central Florida, so many of you already know the feeling of planning a trip around the weather at home. A week of rented villa life on St. John is a different kind of holiday, one that asks you to slow down, pack thoughtfully, and treat the journey as part of the reward. Some families save for years before they book, and that patience tends to show in how they spend their days once they arrive. Because the Westin St John Resort is set on a island reached by water, your planning looks a little different from a mainland getaway. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas, then take a taxi to Red Hook and catch the passenger ferry across to Cruz Bay. Keep that route in mind as you decide how much to bring, since you will be carrying your own bags for the crossing and the short walk that follows.

Planning your St. John splurge from Fern Park
- Getting there from Fern Park. Start by looking at flights from the Orlando area to St. Thomas, the airport code STT. Once you land, arrange a taxi to Red Hook, where the passenger ferry departs for Cruz Bay. Pack light enough to manage stairs and gangways, and keep essentials in a carry bag. Our team can talk through the transfer with you before you commit so nothing about the crossing surprises you on the day.
- Choosing when to travel. Florida winters are mild by comparison with northern states, but the Caribbean has its own rhythm of seasons. Think about when your schedule and your budget for this trip line up best, and whether you want the drier months or the quieter stretches. Because this is a long-planned trip, give yourself room to pick the dates that feel right rather than the ones that happen to be open.
- Planning the stay. Villas at the Westin St John Resort are rented by the week, which gives you time to settle in rather than rush from one plan to the next. Decide early whether you want to drive, since traffic on St. John moves on the left side of the road. Think about groceries, rental cars, and any gear you plan to bring, including the kind of equipment a commercial autonomous floor scrubber might suggest for property managers, though most guests will simply want a relaxed week.
Frequently asked questions
Is it worth flying all the way to St. John for a special trip from Fern Park?
Many travelers from central Florida find the trip is worth it because the setting feels entirely different from home. The journey adds a step, with a flight to St. Thomas, a taxi, and a ferry, but that crossing is part of what makes the arrival memorable. A week in a villa gives you room to rest and enjoy the island at an unhurried pace.
Do I need to rent a car on St. John?
Many guests choose to rent a car so they can explore at their own pace. Remember that driving on St. John is on the left, which takes some getting used to. If you prefer not to drive, plan your days around the places you want to go and ask our team what arrangements suit your stay before you book.
