Commercial Autonomous Floor Scrubber in Browns, Illinois

St John Condos helps travelers from Browns, Illinois, plan a week away with friends at a villa on St. John, where the group can share space, split the days, and settle in before the first swim.

A week away with friends works well on St. John because the island rewards slow mornings, long lunches, and afternoons spent wherever the group happens to end up. Travelers from Browns often arrive with a mix of plans and preferences, so it helps to think early about how the days will feel. A villa rented by the week gives everyone their own room and a shared kitchen, which tends to make the trip feel relaxed rather than rushed. Illinois winters are cold and gray, and a group coming from the Midwest often notices the contrast right away once the warm air and bright water appear. That shift is part of the appeal. Planning the trip as a shared project, with one person handling bookings and another mapping out the rides, keeps the excitement on the island itself rather than in the details back home. Our local team can answer questions about the setup before anyone commits.

Getting from Browns to St. John

  1. Reach St. Thomas first. Most visitors from Browns fly into St. Thomas, the airport code being STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From there the passenger ferry carries you across to Cruz Bay on St. John. Agree with your group ahead of time on who books which leg, and share confirmation details in one place so nobody is scrambling at the terminal when the flights land.
  2. Pick your leaving window. Think about when the group wants to leave Illinois. Some friends prefer to depart during the workweek to avoid crowds, while others like a weekend start so everyone arrives together. Talk through work schedules, school breaks, and how much buffer you want before the first morning on the island, then settle on a window that suits the whole group rather than only the most flexible person.
  3. Plan the stay together. Once you know your arrival, sketch out the week as a group. Decide who wants to cook, who likes to plan outings, and how you will share the car, remembering that driving on St. John is on the left. Set a simple budget for shared meals and groceries. Agreeing on these basics early means the villa becomes a comfortable home base instead of a source of small disagreements.

Frequently asked questions

Is a week at a villa a good fit for a group from Browns?

Yes. A villa rented by the week gives a group of friends space to spread out, cook together, and rest between activities. Many groups from the Midwest find that shared living suits a week away well, especially when everyone agrees on a rough plan for mornings, meals, and the days set aside for doing nothing.

Should we talk to St John Condos before we book?

Please do. Our local team answers questions before you book, so you can ask about the villa layout, how the rental week works, and how the trip from Illinois usually flows. Getting your questions answered first helps the whole group feel confident about the plan before anyone sends a deposit.
