Commercial Autonomous Floor Scrubber in Blue Mound, Illinois
St John Condos helps couples from Blue Mound, Illinois, plan a quiet island getaway at a villa at the Westin St John Resort on St. John in the US Virgin Islands. Ask the local team anything before you book.
For a couple leaving Blue Mound, a trip to St. John often begins with a long stretch of flat farmland and a winter that makes warm water sound very appealing. Illinois travelers tend to think about the islands as a change of pace, a place where the days can be shaped around each other rather than around a schedule. A villa at the Westin St John Resort gives two people room to spread out, cook a simple meal, and wake up slowly. Most visitors reach St. John by flying into St. Thomas, taking a taxi to Red Hook, and boarding the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay. Driving on the island is on the left, which takes a little getting used to for drivers coming from home. If you want a calm, unhurried stay, that small adjustment is part of the appeal, and our team is glad to walk you through the details before you commit.

Planning your couples getaway from Blue Mound
- Getting to the islands. Most couples from Blue Mound fly to St. Thomas, the airport code being STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From there the passenger ferry carries you across to Cruz Bay on St. John. Keep your luggage manageable, since you will be moving it yourselves, and confirm your ferry plans with our team so the last leg of the trip feels easy.
- Choosing the season. Illinois winters are cold and gray, so many couples from Blue Mound choose the islands during the colder months at home. Others prefer the quieter stretches of the year when the island feels less busy. Think about what kind of trip you want, whether that is sunshine to escape the weather or a slower season for two, and let that guide your dates.
- Settling into your villa. Villas are rented by the week, which suits couples who want time to rest rather than rush from place to place. Plan a few unhurried days, leave room for spontaneous swims and long meals, and consider which parts of the island you would like to explore. Tell our team what matters most to you as a pair, and we will help you build a stay that fits.
