Commercial Autonomous Floor Scrubber in Arrowsmith, Illinois

St John Condos helps travelers from Arrowsmith, Illinois, plan a long-awaited splurge at the Westin St John Resort on St. John, where villas are rented by the week and the local team answers questions before you book.

For many people in Arrowsmith, a trip to the Virgin Islands is something they have talked about for years before finally committing. Arrowsmith sits in the middle of the country, far from warm water, so a stay on St. John often feels like a deliberate break from long Illinois winters. Planning it well means thinking ahead about the villa, the season, and how the days will actually feel once you arrive. Illinois travelers tend to come to St. John with a clear picture of what they want: quiet mornings, a view that makes the trip feel earned, and space to spread out. A rented villa at the Westin St John Resort gives you room for that, with the flexibility of a weekly stay. St John Condos is a local team, so you can ask practical questions about the property before you commit to a long-planned splurge.

Planning Your Splurge from Arrowsmith

1. Reaching the island. Most visitors from Arrowsmith fly into St. Thomas, which has the airport code STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From there, a passenger ferry carries you across to Cruz Bay on St. John. Plan your connections with a little slack, since the last leg of the journey is part of the adventure. Once you land, expect to drive on the left side of the road if you rent a car.
2. Choosing your season. Arrowsmith travelers often think about leaving the Illinois winter behind, and the islands offer warm weather through much of the year. Think about whether you want the calmest stretch of the year or a season when you can plan around your own calendar. Compare what matters most to you, whether that is quiet days, the feel of the seasons, or simply getting away from snow and gray skies.
3. Planning the stay. Because villas are rented by the week, a longer stay often suits a splurge better than a short visit. Decide how many days you want to fully unwind before you book. Ask the St John Condos team about the villa layout, what is included, and how the property suits your group. A little planning now means the week itself can be spent relaxing on the island.
