Commercial Autonomous Floor Scrubber in Woodlawn Beach, Florida
St John Condos helps travelers from Woodlawn Beach, Florida, plan a week away with friends at the Westin St John Resort on St. John, US Virgin Islands. Ask the local team anything before you book your villa.
A week with friends on St. John is a different kind of trip than a quiet getaway. Villas at the Westin St John Resort give your group room to spread out, cook together, and keep your own schedule while still sharing the island's pace. Woodlawn Beach travelers often find that a group rental makes the cost of the trip easier to talk through and share. Because the island is small and the surroundings are green and hilly, most of your time will likely be spent outdoors. Plan some shared plans for the days and leave open time for everyone to wander. Weekly rentals suit this kind of trip well, since the first day can be spent settling in rather than rushing. Our team can help you think through how many bedrooms your group needs and how to split the week.

Planning your week from Woodlawn Beach
- Getting to St. John. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas, which has the airport code STT. From there, take a taxi to Red Hook, then board the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay on St. John. Coordinate arrival times so everyone lands near each other, since the ferry runs on its own schedule. If you plan to drive on the island, remember that traffic keeps to the left.
- Choosing when to go. Florida travelers are used to warm weather, so the Virgin Islands may feel familiar, though the island's trade winds and rain showers add their own character. Think about your group's calendar, school breaks, and work commitments before you pick dates. Booking early gives everyone more time to arrange flights and time off from home.
- Planning the stay. Agree on a few things before you go, such as who handles groceries, how meals will be shared, and what the budget for outings looks like. Villa rentals include space for group time, so decide in advance who wants the ocean view and who prefers quiet. Send your questions to the St John Condos team before you book, and they will help you match your group to the right villa.
Frequently asked questions
Is a villa better than separate hotel rooms for a group trip from Woodlawn Beach?
For most friend groups, a villa is more comfortable. You get shared living space, a kitchen for easy breakfasts, and room to gather without everyone crowding one hallway. Hotel rooms can work if your group prefers more privacy or a lot of time away from one another, so think about how your friends like to spend a week together.
Do we need a rental car on St. John?
It depends on how you want to move around. Driving on St. John keeps to the left, and the roads are winding and steep in places, so some travelers prefer to share a vehicle or use taxis. Talk through your plans with the St John Condos team, who can explain what getting around on the island looks like for your group.
