Planning a getaway from Truro

  1. Getting from Iowa. Most visitors reach St. John by flying into St. Thomas, which has the airport code STT, and then taking a taxi to Red Hook and the passenger ferry across to Cruz Bay. Plan for a little time to rest between legs of the trip. Driving on St. John is on the left, so couples who plan to rent a car should keep that in mind when they first pull out.
  2. Choosing when to leave. Iowa winters are cold, so many couples from Truro look forward to the islands during the colder months at home, when a little sunshine feels especially welcome. Think about what you want the trip to feel like, whether that is quiet and restful or a little more lively. The St John Condos team can talk through the timing with you before you commit to anything.
  3. Planning the stay itself. Villas at the resort are rented by the week, which suits couples who prefer to settle in rather than move around. Decide ahead of time how much of each day you want planned and how much you want left open. Share your expectations with the local team, ask about the layout of the villa, and let the week unfold at a pace that feels right for you both.
