Planning a splurge from Tallahassee
- Reaching the island. Most visitors from Tallahassee fly into St. Thomas, which uses the airport code STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From there the passenger ferry carries you across to Cruz Bay on St. John. Plan for that sequence of connections and give yourself a relaxed margin, because a long-planned trip is easier when the arrival day is not crowded. Remember that driving on St. John happens on the left side of the road.
- Choosing the season. Florida winters are mild by comparison with much of the country, yet the Caribbean has its own rhythm of seasons, with some months busier than others. Think about what matters most to you, whether that is quieter days, calmer water, or a stretch of warm weather during a cooler stretch at home. Weigh those preferences against your work calendar and family commitments before you pick dates for the villa.
- Planning the stay. Because villas are rented by the week, decide early how many days you want on the island and build the rest of the trip around that. Consider how you will spend your time, whether lounging by the pool, exploring the coastline, or simply having unhurried meals. Bring a list of questions to our team, since a splurge like this is worth getting right, and we will talk through the details before you book.
