Commercial Autonomous Floor Scrubber in Stone City, Iowa

St John Condos can help friends from Stone City, Iowa, plan a week away together, with villas at the Westin St John Resort on St. John in the US Virgin Islands and a local team ready to answer questions before you book.

A week with friends is one of the easiest trips to plan when everyone has a shared place to gather. For a group leaving Stone City, the appeal of St. John is a quiet island setting where the days can stay loose. You can split up for a morning, then meet back at a shared table for dinner. The villas at the Westin St John Resort give your group room to spread out, and the rental is handled by the week, so the schedule stays simple for everyone. Stone City sits in the middle of the country, far from any ocean, so many people there are used to planning around winter weather and long drives. A trip to the Caribbean changes that rhythm. The air is warm, the water is clear, and the pace is slower than most people expect. Friends who have spent years coordinating calendars often find a week on St. John is the first time everyone has truly unplugged together. A little planning up front makes that easier.

Getting from Stone City to St. John

  1. Reach St. Thomas first. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas, which uses the airport code STT. Your group can coordinate flights from Iowa so everyone lands close together, which saves a lot of waiting around at arrivals. Once you are on the ground, a taxi will take you to Red Hook, where you board the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay on St. John. Plan a little extra room for the ride, since island travel moves at its own pace.
  2. Pick your timing from Iowa. Iowa winters are cold, so many friend groups choose to leave during the coldest months, when a warm week feels like a real reset. Talk with the group early about which dates fit work and family. Once you settle on a window, share it with the team at St John Condos so they can check villa availability. Booking early gives everyone more choice about which weeks work best.
  3. Plan the stay together. A villa stay works well for a group because you can share the cooking, the common spaces, and the quiet evenings. Decide early who handles transport on the island, since driving on St. John is on the left and some people in your group may prefer not to drive. Agree on a rough plan for days out and days in, so nobody feels rushed. Leave room for unplanned afternoons by the water.
