Commercial Autonomous Floor Scrubber in Spragueville, Iowa

St John Condos can help friends from Spragueville, Iowa, plan a week together at a villa on St. John, where the group can share space, meals and time on the water.

Spragueville sits in the Midwest, where winters are cold and the landscape is flat and open. For a group of friends who have been talking about a getaway for a while, a warm island week can feel like exactly the right change of scenery. St John is a small island in the US Virgin Islands, and a villa at the Westin St John Resort gives a group room to spread out, cook together and gather on the terrace each evening. Planning a trip for several people means balancing everyone's wishes, from quiet mornings to lively dinners. St John Condos is a local team that answers questions before you book, so you can talk through bedrooms, dates and the mix of plans with someone who knows the island. Think of this page as a starting point for that conversation, and a way to see how a week away with friends from Iowa can come together.

Planning a week away from Spragueville

  1. Getting to St. John. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas, which has the airport code STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From there the passenger ferry carries you across to Cruz Bay on St. John. It helps to share the ride from the airport so the whole group travels together. Keep in mind that driving on St. John is on the left, so anyone renting a car should plan for that.
  2. Choosing when to leave Iowa. Winters in Iowa are cold, so many friends pick a window in the cooler months to escape the snow and wind. Talk early about which weeks suit everyone's jobs and family commitments. Booking early gives the group more choice of villas and leaves room for flights to settle. Your St John Condos contact can explain how villa rentals are arranged by the week.
  3. Planning the stay together. Divide the work before you go. One person can track dinners, another can plan the days on the water, and someone else can handle a shared budget. A villa suits groups because you can cook, rest and gather without rushing. Agree on quiet time as well as social time so everyone returns home from Spragueville feeling refreshed.
