St John Condos can help travelers from Salix, Iowa, plan a week of snorkeling and beach days on St. John, with villas rented at the Westin St John Resort and a local team ready to answer questions before you book.

Salix sits in the middle of Iowa, a long way from warm water, which is exactly why a week of snorkeling and lazy beach days can feel like such a clean break. St John Condos rents villas at the Westin St John Resort on St. John, US Virgin Islands, and we work with travelers from towns like Salix to shape a stay that fits their pace. Think of this page as a plain-language guide rather than a sales pitch. We will walk through how most visitors reach the island, how to think about timing from Iowa, and what to settle before you go. Planning your island week from Salix

  1. Reaching St. John. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas, the airport code STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From there you board the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay on St. John. Plan for the connections as one smooth sequence, and keep your snorkel gear and sunscreen within easy reach in your carry-on, since the ferry ride is where many travelers first feel the island begin.
  2. Choosing when to go. From Iowa, the appeal of the islands is strongest when the Midwest is at its coldest, but the right season depends on how much rain and wind you are willing to accept. Think about school calendars, work schedules, and how much time you want to spend in the water versus on shore. Our team can talk through the seasons with you so the week suits your snorkeling plans.
  3. Planning the stay. Choose a villa that gives you room to rinse gear, store cooler supplies, and rest between beach days. Rentals are by the week, so decide how many days you want on the water and how many you want quiet. Before you book, ask us about layout, what the villa includes, and how the Westin St John Resort setting fits your plans.
