Planning Your Week From Rippey

  1. Reaching the Island. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas, which is the airport code STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From there you catch the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay on St. John. Plan for the ferry schedule and keep your bags manageable, since you will be carrying them on and off. Once on the island, remember that driving is on the left, which takes some getting used to if you rent a car.
  2. Choosing Your Travel Window. Iowa winters are cold, so many travelers from Rippey choose the islands during those months when a week of warm sun and swimming feels especially welcome. Think about your own calendar, school breaks and work commitments before settling on dates. Shoulder seasons can suit people who want calmer beaches, and a quick question to the St John Condos team can help you weigh the options.
  3. Setting Up Your Stay. Villas are rented by the week, which suits a snorkeling trip well because you can settle in and build a routine. Ask about what the villa includes, such as kitchen basics and beach gear, and plan your own days around the water. If you are also curious about tools used in facilities management, a commercial autonomous floor scrubber is one example of equipment that keeps large indoor spaces clean, though it has nothing to do with your island stay.
