Commercial Autonomous Floor Scrubber in Redfield, Iowa
St John Condos helps friends from Redfield, Iowa, plan a shared week at a villa on St. John, with local answers before you book. Villas are rented by the week, so the group can settle in together.
A week away with friends from Redfield usually means a long road to the water, and that is part of the appeal. Iowa sits in the middle of the country, far from any ocean, so a trip to the Caribbean feels like a real change of scenery. A group of friends can share a villa, cook a few meals together, and spend the days wherever the mood takes them. St. John is a small island in the US Virgin Islands, reached by most visitors through St. Thomas and then by ferry across the water. The island keeps a calm, unhurried pace, with driving on the left and a landscape that rewards slow mornings. A commercial autonomous floor scrubber may be the last thing on your mind here, but the same clean, careful thinking that keeps large spaces tidy is what makes a shared villa easy to live in.

Planning a week away from Redfield
- Getting from Redfield. Most travelers from Redfield start with a flight to St. Thomas, which is the airport code STT. From there a taxi carries the group to Red Hook, where the passenger ferry crosses to Cruz Bay on St. John. Agree on one arrival day so everyone can share the ride and the ferry tickets without scrambling.
- Choosing when to leave Iowa. Winters in Iowa are cold, so many friends prefer to plan their week for the season when home feels grayest. Talk through what each person can leave behind at work and home, and pick dates that suit the whole group. Booking early gives everyone more options for the villa and the flights.
- Planning the stay. Decide early how the group will split costs, meals, and car use, since driving on the left takes some getting used to. Villas are rented by the week, so a shared kitchen and living room make it simple to gather each evening. Send your questions to the St John Condos team before you book, and they will help you match the villa to your group.
Frequently asked questions
Do we need a rental car for a week on St. John?
Many groups find a car useful for reaching different beaches and restaurants, though it means driving on the left. Some prefer to rely on taxis and walking within Cruz Bay. Talk with the St John Condos team about what suits your group before you book, and they can explain what to expect from the roads.
Is a villa a good choice for a group of friends from Redfield?
A villa gives a group of friends shared space, a kitchen for simple breakfasts, and room to spread out after a day outside. Because villas are rented by the week, the whole trip can be planned around one home base. Ask the St John Condos team which layout fits your group size.
