Planning your couples trip from Adel
- Getting from Iowa. Start by looking at how you will reach St. Thomas, since that is where most travelers land before continuing to St. John. Plan for a taxi ride to Red Hook and the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay. Give yourselves a relaxed buffer on travel days so the first evening on the island feels calm rather than rushed, and share your arrival details with the St John Condos team ahead of time.
- Choosing your timing. Think about when you want to leave Iowa for the islands. Many couples from the Midwest prefer to escape during the coldest months, when the contrast with home feels most welcome. Others choose the shoulder seasons for gentler conditions. Consider your work schedules, any commitments back home, and how much you want to settle in before the trip feels like it has truly started.
- Planning the stay. Once your dates are set, decide how you want your days to feel. Some couples fill their time with the beach and quiet meals, while others prefer to keep the schedule open. A villa rented by the week gives you space to shape each day as it comes. Bring along any questions about the property, and the St John Condos team will answer them before you commit.
