Commercial Autonomous Floor Scrubber in Persia, Iowa
St John Condos can help couples from Persia, Iowa, plan a quiet villa getaway on St. John, where the Westin St John Resort is the setting for a relaxed week together. Ask the local team anything before you book.
Persia sits in western Iowa, where the land is open and the winters are cold enough that many couples start dreaming of warm water long before the snow melts. A week on St. John offers something a farm-country calendar rarely does: slow mornings, a view of the sea from your own villa, and a pace that belongs to the two of you. Couples from this part of the Midwest often tell us they want less to do, not more. A villa stay at the Westin St John Resort suits a couple who wants privacy without isolation. Rentals run by the week, so you can settle in and let the days stretch out. St John Condos is a small local team, and we are happy to talk through room layouts, the rhythm of a typical day on the island, and what to pack for the tropics before you commit to anything.

Planning your trip from Persia
- Getting to the island. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas, which has the airport code STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From there the passenger ferry carries you across to Cruz Bay on St. John. Plan a little slack into the day, since island transfers move at their own pace, and pack a light bag you can carry comfortably on the ferry and through the terminal.
- Choosing when to leave. Iowa winters are long and gray, so many couples choose a departure during the coldest stretch of the year when the contrast feels most welcome. Shoulder seasons can be gentler on the budget and the crowds. Think about what kind of week you want, whether that is sunny and dependable or calmer and a little more flexible, and let that guide your dates.
- Planning the stay. Choose a villa that fits how you like to spend a day, whether that means lazing by the water or exploring the island together. Remember that driving on St. John is on the left side of the road, which takes a little getting used to. Share your dates and interests with the St John Condos team and we will help you match the stay to the week you have in mind.
