Commercial Autonomous Floor Scrubber in Ocheyedan, Iowa

St John Condos can help travelers from Ocheyedan, Iowa, plan a week away with friends at a villa near the Westin St John Resort. The team answers questions before you book, so your group can settle the details with confidence.

A week away with friends from Ocheyedan usually starts with a long winter in the northern Midwest and a shared wish for warmth, slower mornings, and time together that does not revolve around daily obligations. A villa at the Westin St John Resort on St. John gives a group of friends room to spread out, cook together, and gather on a shared terrace after a day in the sun. Planning the trip as a group works best when everyone agrees early on what kind of week they want. St John is a small island in the US Virgin Islands, and its pace is gentle by design. Rentals there are arranged by the week, which suits a group that wants to settle in rather than rush from one stop to the next. For friends leaving Iowa, the appeal is simple: a quiet base, a common space to talk late into the evening, and enough independence that everyone can plan their own days.

Getting from Ocheyedan to St. John

  1. Reach the islands. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas, which uses the airport code STT. From there, a taxi takes you to Red Hook, where you board the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay on St. John. Plan this leg as a group so that everyone lands close together and the ferry trip becomes part of the shared start to your week rather than a scramble.
  2. Pick your departure window. Iowa winters are cold, so many groups from Ocheyedan prefer to leave during the coldest stretch of the year. Talk through your calendars, work commitments, and school schedules early. Once you agree on a window, book flights together where possible so the group arrives as one unit and no one is left waiting alone at the airport.
  3. Plan the stay together. Decide early who is cooking, who is handling groceries, and how you will share the villa spaces. Remember that driving on St. John is on the left, so consider whether everyone will drive or whether you will share rides. Ask the St John Condos team any questions before you book, and let them help you match the villa to your group.
