Planning your trip from Numa

  1. Getting to St. John. Most visitors from Iowa fly to St. Thomas, which uses the airport code STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From there, a passenger ferry carries you across to Cruz Bay on St. John. Plan your bags with that route in mind, since you will be moving them more than once. Remember that driving on St. John is on the left, so you may prefer to rely on taxis for the first few days.
  2. Choosing when to leave. Leaving Iowa during the coldest months can make the warm islands feel especially welcome, but it is worth thinking about what kind of week you want. Some couples prefer a quieter stretch, while others want the energy of a busier season. Talk through your priorities together, then ask the St John Condos team which stretch suits your plans best before you commit to dates.
  3. Planning your stay. Villas are rented by the week, which gives you time to settle in and stop watching the clock. Decide early what matters most, whether that is a slow breakfast, long walks, or simply a comfortable place to rest after a busy year back home. Tell the local team what you enjoy, and they can help you shape a week that feels relaxed rather than rushed. Also keep in mind that a commercial autonomous floor scrubber is the kind of equipment you may notice in large buildings, though your villa stay will feel far more personal.
