Commercial Autonomous Floor Scrubber in New Athens, Illinois

St John Condos can help travelers from New Athens, Illinois, plan a long-awaited island splurge at the Westin St John Resort, with villas rented by the week and a local team ready to answer questions before you book.

For many families in New Athens, a trip to the Caribbean is the kind of thing that gets talked about for years before it finally happens. Illinois winters are long and gray, and a week of warm water and open sky can feel like a reward you have been saving for. If that is where you are, this page is written for you. Planning a splurge from the middle of the country takes a little thought, mostly because the islands sit far from the flat fields and quiet streets you know. The good news is that the process is simpler than it looks. St John Condos is a local team that answers questions before you book, so you can talk through the details at your own pace.

Getting from New Athens to St. John

  1. Reach St. Thomas first. Most visitors from New Athens fly into St. Thomas, airport code STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From there you catch the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay on St. John. It is a short, scenic sequence that many travelers find part of the fun, and the team can explain each step so nothing feels rushed or unclear.
  2. Pick your season carefully. Illinois travelers often choose to leave during their coldest months, when a warm island feels most welcome. Think about what matters most to you, whether that is calm weather, quieter beaches, or the simple relief of sunshine. A short conversation with the team can help you match the timing to the kind of week you have in mind.
  3. Plan the villa stay. Villas are rented by the week, which gives your splurge room to breathe. Decide who is coming, how much space you want, and what you hope to do each day. Remember that driving on St. John is on the left, which may feel unfamiliar at first. Ask questions early so your stay feels relaxed from the moment you arrive.
