Commercial Autonomous Floor Scrubber in Neptune Beach, Florida
St John Condos is a local team that answers questions before you book, and we help families from Neptune Beach plan a villa stay at the Westin St John Resort on St. John in the US Virgin Islands.
Neptune Beach sits on Florida's Atlantic coast, so many families here already know the rhythm of sun and salt air. A trip to St. John offers a different kind of break, with a Caribbean island set in warm water and a slower pace that suits children and grandparents alike. Villas at the Westin St John Resort give your group room to spread out, cook a meal together, and step outside without a long walk to the pool. Planning a family trip from Neptune Beach often means balancing school calendars, work schedules, and the question of who needs what on the road. We find it helps to settle the dates first, then the room layout, then the small details like car seats and beach gear. Our team is glad to talk through those choices with you before anything is booked, so the plan feels settled and unhurried.

Getting from Neptune Beach to St. John
- Reach St. Thomas first. Most visitors from this part of Florida fly into St. Thomas, using the STT airport code when they search for flights. From there, a taxi carries your family to Red Hook, where the passenger ferry crosses to Cruz Bay. Keep car seats, medications, and a small bag of essentials in your carry-on so the transfer feels manageable with children in tow.
- Pick your season. Florida families know that weather shapes every vacation, and the Virgin Islands follow their own pattern of warm days and trade winds. Think about your children's school calendar, the cost of peak weeks, and whether you want quieter beaches or more activity. Share your preferred months with our team and we will talk through what fits your household.
- Plan the villa stay. Villas are rented by the week, which gives your family space for shared meals, rest time, and a steady rhythm. Decide early who needs a separate bedroom, whether you want a rental car, and how you will handle the drive, since traffic on St. John moves on the left. Ask us about the layout before booking so the stay suits everyone.
Frequently asked questions
Do we need a rental car if we stay on St. John with children?
Many families find a car useful for groceries, beach trips, and getting around the island at their own pace. Remember that driving on St. John is on the left side of the road, which takes a little adjustment. Our team can tell you what to expect so you can decide what suits your group.
Is a villa better than a hotel room for a family from Neptune Beach?
A villa gives children room to play, lets adults keep a quieter evening, and makes it easy to cook simple meals. Hotel rooms can feel cramped for larger groups. Tell us how many people are traveling and we will help you compare the layouts available.
