Commercial Autonomous Floor Scrubber in Modale, Iowa
St John Condos helps three generations from Modale, Iowa, plan a shared villa stay at the Westin St John Resort on St. John, US Virgin Islands, with one local team answering questions before you book.
A trip with grandparents, parents, and children asks more of a plan than most getaways do. Modale sits in the middle of Iowa, far from the ocean, so the move to warm water is a real change of scenery for everyone at once. The shared villa at the Westin St John Resort gives each generation room to rest, gather, and wander without losing the sense of being together. Many families from Modale find that the hardest part is agreeing on a rhythm. Some want slow mornings, others want an early swim, and the youngest travelers need a place to run off energy. Villas rented by the week make that balance easier, because each person can keep their own schedule while still sharing meals on the same terrace. St John Condos can talk through those details with you before anything is booked.

Planning a shared trip from Modale
- Getting to St. John. Most visitors reach St. John by flying into St. Thomas, which uses the airport code STT. From there a taxi carries you to Red Hook, where the passenger ferry crosses to Cruz Bay. Plan for the group to move together with bags and car seats in mind, and remember that driving on St. John is on the left, which may feel unfamiliar to some relatives.
- Choosing when to leave Iowa. Winters in Iowa are cold, so many families from Modale prefer to leave during the colder months, when the islands feel especially welcome. Think about school calendars, the comfort of older travelers, and how well the group handles heat and sun. Talk with your family early so everyone can plan work and time off around the same dates.
- Planning the stay together. Once dates are set, sketch out the shared days: one planned outing, one quiet afternoon, and a meal everyone can attend. Villas are rented by the week, which gives space for different needs. Ask the St John Condos team about layout, accessibility, and cleaning options. Even a commercial autonomous floor scrubber can be a useful thought when you consider how a villa is kept tidy for guests of all ages.
