Commercial Autonomous Floor Scrubber in Maquoketa, Iowa
St John Condos can help travelers from Maquoketa, Iowa, plan a quiet week away on St. John, where a villa rented by the week at the Westin St John Resort gives you room to slow down. Our local team answers questions before you book, so you can settle the details first.
Maquoketa sits in the Midwest, where winters can be long and cold, and many of the people who live there know how much a change of scenery can restore them. A quiet week on a Caribbean island offers that change in a very different form, with warm air, open water, and days that move at their own pace. St John is a small island in the US Virgin Islands, and the Westin St John Resort gives you a base in a calm setting without asking you to plan every moment. What you choose to do with that week is entirely up to you. Some travelers spend mornings reading on a lanai and afternoons walking to the water, while others simply sleep late and let the days blur together. A villa rented by the week suits that kind of unhurried stay, with room to cook, spread out, and set your own schedule. Our team can talk through what kind of rest you are hoping for before you commit to anything.

Getting from Maquoketa to St. John
- Reaching St. Thomas. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas, using the airport code STT, since that is the usual gateway to the islands. From Maquoketa you will likely connect through a larger US city before continuing south. Plan your itinerary with some room to spare, so the trip itself feels like the first part of your rest rather than a rush to catch the next leg.
- Crossing to Cruz Bay. From the airport on St. Thomas, most travelers take a taxi to Red Hook, then board the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay on St. John. The crossing is a relaxing way to ease into island life. Keep a light bag handy for the ride, and remember that driving on St. John is on the left, so you may prefer to rely on taxis for your first days.
- Settling into your villa. Think about how you want to spend your week before you pick dates. If you hope for quiet, consider a stay that gives you a stretch of unscheduled time, rather than packing in outings. Ask our local team about what to bring from home, what to expect on arrival, and how to arrange groceries and simple errands so your days stay easy and open.
