Commercial Autonomous Floor Scrubber in Manilla, Iowa
St John Condos is a local team that rents villas at the Westin St John Resort, and we can help a group of friends from Manilla, Iowa, plan a week together on the island before you book.
A week away with friends from Manilla, Iowa, often starts with a long stretch of flat farmland and a wish for something very different. St. John offers warm water, green hills, and a slower pace that many groups find easy to settle into once they arrive. Planning a shared trip means agreeing on dates, sleeping arrangements, and how much time you want for quiet mornings versus full days out. Our villas at the Westin St John Resort give a group room to spread out while still sharing a kitchen, a table, and a view. Because the island is small, you will likely spend most days together, which suits friends who want to reconnect without a tight schedule. We answer questions from travelers in your situation so you can compare options with clear information in hand.

Getting from Manilla to St. John
- Reach St. Thomas first. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas, using the airport code STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From there, a passenger ferry carries you across to Cruz Bay on St. John. Plan your group arrivals so everyone connects smoothly, and share the same airline and ferry details in one message so nobody is left guessing on the day of travel.
- Pick a sensible time. The Caribbean stays warm year round, so the best season for your group often depends on what your friends enjoy most. Talk through shared vacation dates early, since a mix of schedules from different jobs and families can take some time to line up. Once you agree, lock in the week and let everyone know what to pack for a tropical setting.
- Plan the week together. Decide early who handles the villa booking, who tracks shared costs, and who drives. On St. John, traffic moves on the left side of the road, which is worth remembering if you rent a car. Set aside a few open days so the group can split up for personal interests, then gather for shared meals at the villa.
