Commercial Autonomous Floor Scrubber in Lowell, Iowa

St John Condos is a local team that rents villas at the Westin St John Resort, and we can help friends from Lowell, Iowa, plan a shared week on the island before you book. Ask us anything about the villa, the trip, or the timing.

A week away with friends from Lowell, Iowa, often means a group that has known each other for years and wants a trip where everyone can relax at the same pace. A villa at the Westin St John Resort gives that group a shared base, with room to spread out in the mornings and gather for dinner in the evenings. Planning it well starts with a few honest conversations about what each person hopes to get from the week. Iowa winters are cold, so many friends from the Midwest look forward to the warm, easy days of a Caribbean island in the middle of the year. The island moves at its own unhurried speed, and driving there is on the left side of the road, which is worth knowing before anyone takes the wheel. Think of the week as a shared project: who books what, who handles the car, and who keeps track of the plans.

Planning your week from Lowell

  1. Getting to St. John. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas, which is the usual gateway, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From there the passenger ferry carries you across to Cruz Bay on St. John. Ask your group to share flight details early so everyone can plan the taxi and ferry together. Having one shared itinerary keeps the day of arrival calm and simple.
  2. Choosing when to leave Iowa. Think about when your group can realistically get away from work, school, and family commitments in Lowell. Mid-year departures often line up well for groups that want a break from Iowa weather, while other times may suit people with flexible schedules better. Agree on a target window together, then compare calendars. A little flexibility from each person usually makes the trip possible for everyone.
  3. Planning the stay. Rent the villa by the week so your group has a steady base for the whole trip. Decide early who sleeps where, how shared costs will be split, and which days you want to be lazy and which you want to be active. Keep a simple shared plan on your phone. Once the basics are set, you can leave room for spontaneous afternoons on the island.
