Commercial Autonomous Floor Scrubber in Lombard, Illinois
St John Condos helps families from Lombard, Illinois, plan a relaxed island trip, with villas at the Westin St John Resort on St. John and a local team ready to answer questions before you book.
Planning a family vacation from Lombard means balancing everyone's wishes, from the youngest travelers who want sand underfoot to the teenagers who want a little privacy. A villa rented by the week gives your group room to spread out, cook a simple breakfast, and settle into a slower rhythm than a hotel corridor allows. Many families find that a rental unit at the Westin St John Resort on St. John keeps the logistics calm once everyone has arrived. The island is a place where plans tend to loosen. Driving is on the left, roads wind through hills, and the pace of daily life is unhurried, which suits families who would rather wander than follow a rigid schedule. Think of your trip as a set of simple choices, with a few firm decisions made early and the rest left open for the days ahead.

Getting from Lombard to St. John
- Reaching the island. Most visitors from Lombard fly into St. Thomas, the airport code being STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From there, a passenger ferry carries you across to Cruz Bay on St. John. Plan a little breathing room between your arrival and the ferry, since small children and luggage can slow every step, and keep essentials like medication and swimsuits in your carry-on bag.
- Choosing when to travel. Chicago-area winters are cold, so many Lombard families choose to leave Illinois during the coldest months to enjoy warm sunshine on the islands. Shoulder seasons can also suit families who want quieter beaches and a little more flexibility. Pick the window that fits your school calendar and your group's tolerance for heat, then book early enough to secure the dates and room layout you want.
- Planning the stay. Settle on a few anchor activities for the family and leave the rest open. Sort out who is responsible for meals, beach gear, and rides on the left-hand roads. If your family is considering a commercial autonomous floor scrubber for a business back home, that is a separate matter, but for this trip, keep your packing list simple and share it with everyone ahead of time.
