Commercial Autonomous Floor Scrubber in Darien, Illinois

St John Condos helps friends from Darien, Illinois, plan a week together at a villa on St. John in the US Virgin Islands, from the first question to the last day of the stay.

A week away with friends is one of the easiest kinds of trip to get wrong and one of the easiest to get right. Darien sits in the Midwest, where winters are cold and long, so a group from here often arrives on St. John with a strong wish for warm water, slow mornings, and time spent together without the usual schedule pulling everyone apart. A villa suits that wish well, since it gives a group one shared base instead of several rooms scattered across a property. Planning this kind of stay means agreeing early on who is coming, how the days should feel, and who will handle which details. St John Condos is a local team, and we are glad to talk through how a group of friends might divide the week, whether everyone wants a quiet pace or a busy one, and what questions to settle before anyone books. We would rather hear your plans now than find out later that they do not match.

Planning a week with friends from Darien

1. Getting to the islands. Most visitors reach St. John by flying into St. Thomas, which uses the airport code STT, and then taking a taxi to Red Hook for the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay. Because the group is coming from Illinois, it helps to have everyone's arrival plans lined up in advance so that no one is left waiting at the dock. Share one shared itinerary with the whole group before anyone buys a ticket.
2. Choosing when to leave. Illinois winters are cold, so many groups from Darien prefer to travel during the colder months at home, when a week of warm sun and swimming feels especially welcome. Talk with your friends about school calendars, work schedules, and how much time everyone can realistically take off. Settling the dates early gives the group a better chance of booking the same villa for the full week together.
3. Planning the stay. Villas are rented by the week, so a group can settle in and let the days unfold without packing and unpacking. Decide together how you will split shared costs, cooking, and driving, keeping in mind that traffic on St. John moves on the left side of the road. Send your questions to the St John Condos team before you book, and we will walk through the details with you.
