Commercial Autonomous Floor Scrubber in Lambs Grove, Iowa
St John Condos can help three generations from Lambs Grove, Iowa, plan one shared villa stay on St. John, where grandparents, parents, and children can gather under one roof and still have room to spread out.
Planning a trip that brings grandparents, parents, and children together takes more thought than a couple's getaway. Everyone has different energy levels, different tastes, and different ideas about what a vacation should feel like. A villa at the Westin St John Resort gives a family like yours separate spaces to rest while still sharing meals and time on the water. For travelers leaving the flat farmland and wide skies of Iowa, the change of scenery can feel like a gift to everyone at once. Many families from Lambs Grove arrive in the Virgin Islands after a long winter at home, so the warm air and clear water tend to land well with all ages. Iowa's cold months make a Caribbean week especially welcome for older relatives, while younger travelers often enjoy the slower pace. St John Condos is a local team that answers questions before you book, so you can talk through bedrooms, accessibility needs, and daily plans with people who know the island.

Getting your Lambs Grove family to St. John
- Reaching the island. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas, which has its own airport, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From there, a passenger ferry carries you across to Cruz Bay on St. John. Plan for a little extra time when your group includes grandparents or young children, and keep carry-on bags light enough for everyone to manage. Once you land, your villa team can explain the ferry schedule and the best way to reach your door.
- Choosing when to leave Iowa. Think about your family's calendar before you pick dates. Many people from Iowa prefer to travel during the coldest part of the year, when the contrast with the islands feels most rewarding. School breaks, grandparents' schedules, and holidays all shape what works. St John Condos can talk through seasonal weather in plain terms so you can choose a week that suits everyone in the group.
- Planning the stay together. Give each generation a small say in the plan. Mix quiet mornings on the terrace with a shared afternoon outing, and leave open time so nobody feels rushed. Remember that driving on St. John is on the left, so consider who will drive and whether a relaxed pace suits your group better than a packed itinerary. A villa rented by the week makes this kind of unhurried planning simple and comfortable.
