Commercial Autonomous Floor Scrubber in Lake Mack-Forest Hills, Florida
St John Condos helps families in Lake Mack-Forest Hills, Florida, plan a trip to St. John for three generations together, with villas that give everyone room to gather and rest. Ask us anything before you book.
Planning a trip that brings grandparents, parents, and children to the same island takes more thought than a typical getaway. Travelers from Lake Mack-Forest Hills often start by thinking about who needs the most ease, whether that is a grandparent who prefers slower mornings or a child who wants to be in the water all day. A villa rented by the week can hold all of that in one place, so no one has to split off to a separate room or hotel floor. The Caribbean setting is warm year round, which suits a family that spans several ages and energy levels. Florida travelers already know the feel of a humid southern climate, so the island weather will feel familiar while offering its own rhythm. Many visitors reach St. John by flying into St. Thomas, taking a taxi to Red Hook, and boarding the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay, a sequence that is simple once you have seen it laid out.

Getting to St. John from Lake Mack-Forest Hills
- Reaching St. Thomas. Most families from the Lake Mack-Forest Hills area fly into St. Thomas, the airport code STT, and that is the starting point for the rest of the trip. Plan seats and bags with everyone in mind, since grandparents may appreciate an aisle seat and children may need space to move. Keep travel documents for all three generations together in one folder so the arrival goes smoothly.
- Choosing when to leave. Picking a departure window works best when it fits the calendar of the oldest and youngest travelers, not only the working adults. School schedules, medical appointments, and any planned family milestones matter here. Talk through the options as a group early, and let the older members weigh in on what kind of pace they want before the dates are locked.
- Planning the stay. A villa rented by the week gives a multigenerational group room to spread out and come together on their own terms. Consider where the kitchen, the outdoor seating, and the bedrooms sit so that quieter members can retreat without leaving the group. Share a simple daily plan with flexible blocks, and ask St John Condos questions about the villa layout before you book so that everyone knows what to expect.
Frequently asked questions
Do we need to drive on St. John if our group includes grandparents?
Driving on St. John is on the left, which may feel unfamiliar to visitors from Florida. If some members of your group prefer not to drive, plan transportation ahead and talk with the team at St John Condos about what getting around the island is like for families with older travelers before you commit to a villa.
How far in advance should a family from Lake Mack-Forest Hills book a villa?
Families traveling together usually benefit from booking early, since several generations need to agree on dates and a villa that fits everyone. Reach out to St John Condos with your group size and any accessibility needs, and the team can help you think through the timing and the right property before you book.
