Commercial Autonomous Floor Scrubber in Jerome, Illinois
St John Condos helps friends from Jerome, Illinois, plan a week together on St. John, rented as a villa at the Westin St John Resort, with a local team ready to answer questions before you book.
A week away with friends from Jerome often starts with a simple question: how do you keep everyone happy when the group is large, the plans are loose, and the days should feel like a holiday rather than a logistics exercise? A villa rented by the week gives your group a shared home base at the Westin St John Resort, with room to gather, cook together, and spread out when someone wants quiet. Planning around a single rental also keeps costs and decisions easier to talk through as a group. Illinois winters are long and gray for many people, so a warm island week can feel especially welcome to a group that has been waiting for a break. The island itself moves at an easygoing pace, and most of your time will likely be spent on the beach, at the pool, or sharing a meal on the villa terrace. Ask the St John Condos team anything before you commit, and they will help you match the villa to the number of people traveling together.

Getting from Jerome to St. John
- Fly into St. Thomas. Most visitors from the Midwest reach St. John by flying to St. Thomas, airport code STT. From there, a taxi takes you to Red Hook, where you board the passenger ferry across to Cruz Bay. Plan this leg as a group so everyone arrives with bags and tickets in hand, and let one person coordinate with the rest of the friends traveling from Jerome.
- Pick your leaving window. Think about when your group can realistically leave Illinois, since schedules for a crew of friends rarely line up perfectly. Choose dates that suit everyone's work and family commitments, and settle on a shared departure plan early. A little flexibility in the week you choose often makes it easier to find routes that work for the whole group.
- Plan the stay together. Once you have a villa booked, sit down as a group and sketch out the week: a beach morning, a long lunch, a quiet afternoon by the pool, and an evening meal at home. Note who is bringing what for the kitchen, and agree on how you will split shared costs. Driving on St. John is on the left, so anyone renting a car should plan for that before the first drive.
Frequently asked questions
Is a villa a good choice for a group of friends from Jerome?
Usually, yes. A villa gives your group a shared kitchen, living space, and outdoor area, so people can come and go without crowding a hotel room. Rentals are by the week, which suits a longer getaway. Talk with the St John Condos team about your group size so you can see which villa fits.
How do we handle a week with a lot of different plans?
Set aside a few open days and a couple of shared meals so the week has rhythm without a rigid schedule. Ask each friend to name one thing they most want to do, then build loose plans around those. The local team can answer questions about the villa before you book so your group feels confident from the start.
