Getting your Goulds family to St. John
- Reaching the islands. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas, which is the airport code STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From there, a passenger ferry carries you across to Cruz Bay on St. John. Plan for the transfer with children in mind, keeping bags manageable and allowing room for a slower pace after a long journey. Renting a car on the island is an option, but remember that driving on St. John is on the left.
- Choosing your departure window. Think about the weather at home and on the islands before you set dates. Northern states have cold winters, so many families from warmer parts of the country look for a break in the colder months, while others prefer the quieter season. Consider school calendars, grandparents, and how much rest your group needs. Our team can help you weigh those factors against the kind of week you have in mind.
- Planning the stay. Villas are rented by the week, which suits families who want room for a shared kitchen, separate sleeping areas, and a place to unwind after a day outdoors. Talk with us early about your group size, your children's ages, and any needs for quiet time. A little planning now means fewer surprises later and a smoother trip from your front door in Goulds to the island and back.
