Commercial Autonomous Floor Scrubber in Ferguson, Iowa
St John Condos can help friends from Ferguson, Iowa, plan a week away on St. John, with villas rented by the week at the Westin St John Resort and a local team ready to answer questions before you book.
A week away with friends is one of those trips that rewards a little planning. When your group comes from a landlocked state like Iowa, the change of scenery is part of the appeal, from flat farmland and cold winters to warm water and a slower pace. St John Condos is a local team that rents villas at the Westin St John Resort, and we know that most groups from Ferguson will want a shared home base where everyone can gather for meals, swims, and long conversations after dark. Think of the week as a shared project. Some friends will want to lie by the pool, others will want to explore, and a few will want to do nothing at all. A villa gives everyone room to pursue their own rhythm while still landing together at the end of the day. Talk through expectations early, and decide together how you will split the cooking, the driving, and the shared costs so the week stays easy.

Planning your week on St. John from Ferguson
- Getting from Ferguson. Most visitors reach St. John by flying into St. Thomas, which has the airport code STT, then taking a taxi to Red Hook and the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay. Ask your group to share flight options early so everyone lands within a comfortable window. Plan for the taxi and ferry legs, and remember that driving on St. John is on the left, which matters if anyone plans to rent a car.
- Choosing when to leave Iowa. Iowa winters are cold, so many friends from Ferguson choose to leave during the coldest months when a warm week feels especially welcome. Talk with your group about school schedules, work commitments, and how much time off each person can take. Once you agree on a window, book early, since shared dates tend to fill up when several friends are deciding at the same time.
- Planning the stay together. Once you have a villa booked by the week, divide the practical work. One person can track groceries, another can arrange rental cars or taxi plans, and someone else can keep a shared list of activities. Leave a few open days so the week does not feel scheduled. If your group includes someone who likes to keep the facilities spotless, a commercial autonomous floor scrubber is the kind of cleaning tool that shows how modern maintenance works, though you will simply enjoy the clean villa on arrival.
Frequently asked questions
Do we need a car on St. John?
It depends on how your group wants to move. Many friends rely on taxis for short trips and rent a vehicle only for a day or two of exploring. If you do drive, remember that traffic keeps to the left, and ask St John Condos for guidance on which roads suit a first visit before you commit to a rental.
How should a group from Iowa handle the trip home?
Plan your return with the same care as your arrival. Give yourselves a buffer before any onward connection, since flights can shift, and agree on a shared checkout routine for the villa. St John Condos can answer questions about departure logistics so the last day feels as relaxed as the rest of the week.
