Maybe it was tied to an anniversary, a milestone birthday, or simply the wish to step out of the long Midwestern winter for a stretch. St John Condos can talk through what matters most to you before you commit, so the trip reflects the reason you started dreaming about it in the first place.

Planning a splurge from Elliott

  1. Getting to St. John. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas, which has the airport code STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From there, the passenger ferry carries you across to Cruz Bay on St. John. Plan a little slack into the day, since island connections can feel more relaxed than you might be used to, and it helps to arrive with a bit of breathing room.
  2. Choosing when to go. Leaving Iowa for the islands means trading cold winter for Caribbean warmth, which makes the cooler months of the year a common favorite for travelers from the northern states. Think about what you want from the trip, whether that is quiet mornings, lively evenings, or simply a break from routine, and let that guide your dates. Your St John Condos contact can help you weigh the options.
  3. Planning the stay. Villas are rented by the week, so think about how many days you want to settle in and enjoy the resort. Once you arrive, remember that driving on St. John is on the left, which may take a moment to get used to. Share your wish list with the local team early, and they can help shape a stay that feels like the splurge you have been planning.
