Commercial Autonomous Floor Scrubber in East Lake, Florida
St John Condos is a local team that answers questions before you book, and for East Lake travelers planning a long-awaited splurge, we are glad to talk through villa choices at the Westin St John Resort first.
For many people in East Lake, Florida, a trip to St. John has been a dream tucked away for years, waiting for the right season and the right moment. Florida already gives you warm weather, so the appeal of the Virgin Islands is less about escape from heat and more about a slower pace, clear water, and a place where the days feel like they belong to you. Planning a splurge like this means thinking about the stay as carefully as the travel itself. Because the island is reached by flying to St. Thomas, then taking a taxi to Red Hook and the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay, the journey asks for a little patience. Many travelers find that this step-by-step arrival becomes part of the pleasure, a gentle handover from mainland routines to island rhythms. Driving on St. John is on the left, so renting a car is something to consider with care before you arrive.

Planning Your St. John Splurge from East Lake
- Getting to the island. Most visitors from the Florida mainland fly into St. Thomas, which is the usual gateway to St. John. From the airport, a taxi will carry you to Red Hook, where the passenger ferry crosses to Cruz Bay. Keep your bags manageable, since you will be walking and boarding as you go. Give yourself a relaxed margin on travel day so the crossing feels unhurried rather than rushed.
- Choosing your season. East Lake residents already know Florida heat well, so think about what you want from the islands. Some travelers prefer the drier stretches of the year, while others enjoy the greener months. Weigh crowds, weather, and your own calendar. A long-planned trip is often best matched to the time of year when you can settle in fully instead of squeezing it between obligations.
- Planning the villa stay. Villas at the Westin St John Resort are rented by the week, which gives you room to unwind rather than tick off a checklist. Think about how many people are traveling, what kind of view or layout you want, and whether you plan to use a car. Share these details with our team so we can help you match the villa to the trip you have imagined for years.
