Commercial Autonomous Floor Scrubber in Drakesville, Iowa

St John Condos helps friends from Drakesville, Iowa, plan a week away together, with villas at the Westin St John Resort on St. John in the US Virgin Islands and a local team ready to answer questions before you book.

A week away with friends from Drakesville often starts with a simple wish: a shared place to unwind, cook a few meals together, and talk until late without anyone watching the clock. Iowa winters are long and gray for most of the year, so a warm island setting can feel like a real change of pace. Villas at the Westin St John Resort give a group room to spread out while still sharing a sense of place. Planning for a group works best when everyone knows what to expect before they arrive. St John Condos is a local team that answers questions before you book, so you can talk through who is coming, how you want to split the days, and what kind of quiet or activity you hope for. A short conversation at the start can save a lot of back and forth later on for everyone in your group.

Getting from Drakesville to St. John

  1. Reaching the island. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas, which uses the airport code STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From there, a passenger ferry carries you across to Cruz Bay on St. John. Plan for the group to travel together where you can, and confirm everyone's arrival day so pickups and ferry seats are simple to coordinate for the whole crew.
  2. Choosing when to leave. Iowa's cold months make a winter escape especially appealing, so many groups from Drakesville aim to leave once the snow starts to feel like too much. Think about what each person can get away from work and family, and pick a week that works for the whole group. Agreeing on dates early gives everyone time to make plans at home.
  3. Planning the stay. Talk through the rhythm you want for the week before you arrive. Some groups enjoy shared breakfasts and slow afternoons, while others prefer to split off for their own plans. Villas are rented by the week, so agree on shared costs, grocery runs, and who handles driving. Remember that driving on St. John is on the left, which is worth a quick reminder for anyone new to it.

Frequently asked questions

Can a group from Drakesville all stay in one villa?

Villa size and layout vary, so the best way to find out is to tell the St John Condos team how many people are coming and what you want from the space. They can talk through options with you before you book, so your group has room to gather and enough privacy to rest.

What should a group from Iowa expect when it comes to the weather on St. John?

St. John has a warm tropical climate for most of the year, which is a big change from Iowa. Pack light clothing, sun protection, and comfortable shoes for walking.
