Commercial Autonomous Floor Scrubber in Clio, Iowa

St John Condos can help travelers from Clio, Iowa, plan a week of snorkeling and beach days on St. John, a quiet island in the US Virgin Islands. Villas are rented by the week, and the local team answers questions before you book.

Clio sits in the heart of Iowa, where the landscape is wide and flat and the seasons change plainly. For many people from that part of the Midwest, a week of snorkeling and beach days on St. John offers a welcome change. The water is warm and clear, the shoreline is easy to explore, and the pace of the island tends to slow even the busiest mind. It is a different kind of rest than most people find at home. A snorkeling week on St. John is simple to shape around your own interests. Some days you may want to float over reef edges in the morning and spend the afternoon reading under a shade tree. Other days you might prefer a long walk along the sand with nowhere to be. St John Condos works with travelers from Clio to match a villa stay to that kind of rhythm, so the week feels like yours rather than a schedule handed to you.

Planning your island week from Clio

  1. Reaching the island. Most visitors from the Clio area fly to St. Thomas, which has the airport code STT, then take a taxi to Red Hook and catch the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay on St. John. The ride is short, and the ferry gives you your first view of the island's green hills. If you rent a car on St. John, remember that driving here is on the left, which takes a little getting used to on the narrow roads.
  2. Choosing your season. Iowa winters are cold, so many travelers from Clio look forward to warm island weather in the colder months. The Virgin Islands stay warm through the year, with trade winds that keep the air moving. Think about when you can be away from work and home, and let that guide your dates. A week spent snorkeling in gentle, warm water is a good reason to pick your travel window with care.
  3. Planning the stay. Villas on St. John are rented by the week, which suits a snorkeling trip well. Think about how much time you want on the water, how many people are coming, and whether you want a kitchen for quiet breakfasts before heading to the beach. Send your questions to the St John Condos team before you book. They will talk through the details with you so the week fits the way you want to spend it.
